JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks an Desk Top Publishing Operator is expected to perform include:

• Laying out pages, selecting size and style of type and entering text and graphics into computer to produce printed material like advertisement, brochures, forms, etc.

• Reviewing layout and customer order

• Printing paper or film copies of completed material

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 2

Preferably, graduation in any specialisation

 

KEY COMPETENCIES 2

• Knowledge of graphic arts techniques

• Well-versed in typesetting and using computer

• Proficient in printing material such as newsletters, brochures, advertisement, etc.

• Well-versed with using input device such as mouse, keyboard, scanner, modem, etc.

• Knowledge of aesthetic standards, layout specifications of graphic designer etc.

• Knowledge of DTP software

• Proficient in operating automatic film developer to process photographs

• Knowledge of assembling artwork into paste-up

• Knowledge of Page Maker, Coral Draw, Photoshop, etc.

• Proficient in English and other local language

EXPECTED EARNINGS 2

• For new entrants – Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month

• For candidates with experience - Rs 9,000 to Rs 10,000 per month
