JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The task a Garment Cutter expected to perform includes:

• Taking the fabric from stock, loading the fabric and programming the Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to run the particular design

• Removing the cut pieces off the conveyer belt

• Ensuring cutting is done as per product requirements

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2

• It is a desk job

• Need not handle a team

• Travelling is not necessary

• Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available

• Work from home option is not available

Working hours

• Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

• Overtime may be involved

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1

• Preferably, 12th pass

 

KEY COMPETENCIES 1

• Knowledge of fabric types and garment construction

• Proficient in pattern sewing codes and symbols

• Equipped in different cutting equipment and methods

• Knowledge of the common quality imperfections associated with the materials

• Proficient in CAM operating procedures

• Knowledge of how to identify the process and product problems

 

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1

• Training in CAM software and operations

• Ability to work in teams
