The tasks a Market Research Associate is expected to perform include:

  • Undertaking detailed market research to create product backlog or product funnel

  • Collecting data and undertaking exhaustive analysis including competitive analysis

  • Providing inputs to teams involved in designing, manufacturing or management of product lifecycle

  • It is a desk job

  • Needs to handle a team of research trainees/analysts

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working hours

  • Multinational organization usually work for 5 days a week and 8 to 9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1

• Preferably, Bachelor's degree in Management/Business/Marketing/Science

KEY COMPETENCIES 1

  • Knowledge of different processes involved in collecting effective data/information

  • Proficient in carrying out rule-based analysis on data/information

  • Well-versed with different methods used to interpret the market/industry trends

  • Knowledge of presenting research and analysis data in a structured way

  • Well-versed with how to check and make corrections to documents for common editorial problems and errors like deviations, factual accuracies, etc.

  • Knowledge of  document preparation tools including Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Knowledge of current practice in conducting market research and analysis

 

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1

  • Training courses in statistical tools and platforms like SPSS, SAS, STATA and/or Excel

  • Quality training

  • Communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team
