EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1

Preferably, 12th pass
KEY COMPETENCIES 1

Knowledge of garment construction techniques and processes

Knowledge of how to create design by hand sketches or Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Detailed knowledge of different range of fabrics

Knowledge of the cost involved in making an apparel

Knowledge of sale ability of a product designed

Knowledge of types of fabrics that require stitching by hand or machine

Knowledge of sewing and pattern-making techniques

Well-versed with trends relating to fabrics, colours and shapes

Competent in using illustration software CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.

Trainee → Assistant Designer → Associate Designer → Fashion Designer → Senior Designer → Creative Director → VP of Design

EXPECTED EARNINGS

For new entrants – Rs 14,000 to Rs 20,000 per month
