JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Teacher, Infant School/Teacher Pre-Primary is expected to perform include:

  • Teaching the children of nursery and kindergarten classes

  • Teaching through Montessori, happy education or other systems of child education

  • Teaching reading and writing of alphabets, numerals and simple sentences

  • Helping the students do simple additions and subtractions

  • Familiarising them with names, colours, shapes, sounds, etc., of objects, flowers, birds and animals

  • Directing all the recreational activities

  • Guiding the development of physical and mental activities of children

  • Receiving fees and maintaining the accounts

  • Arranging for children's mid-day meals

  • Attending other extracurricular or special activities such as sports, dramatics, picnics and excursions, music, hand work, etc.​

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2

  • It is not a desk job

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working hours

  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

  • Shift system may be available

  • Skilled in meeting requirements for the assessment and recording pupils' development

  • Ability to discuss students' progress and concerns with parents and academic co-ordinators
